Paul Munford at The CAD Setter Out blog is cranking out his list of the best CAD tips once again. This time he’s given us a preview by posting 15 from the best of the best. A little red faced, I was shocked that I made the best of list this year. Being that this hasn’t been my most stellar year for posting new tips on cadtoolbox.com.
With that being said, at the end of Paul’s post he posts some sage advice from his favorite CAD Manager, Robert Green:
Always strive to find ways to get the same task done with fewer keystrokes. You’ll save time, you’ll reduce errors (fewer keystrokes = fewer chances to screw up) and you’ll become a role model to other users which leads to career advancement. I don’t care what software you use or what industry you’re in it always pays to get things done quicker and easier.
This is exactly the reason why my #1 CAD tip for all you Inventor users is simple… start using Swift Prints. Swift Prints allows you to create templates for common printer configurations that you can quickly access later for one click printing of Inventor drawings.
Paul has also has been kind enough to provide some unique means of reading his CAD tips and has published them to an Amazon e-book with Apple iBooks soon to follow. Thanks Paul!
