Following along the robot theme for the week. This one has been itching to be written about for sometime now. My 4 year old watches Nick Jr. quite often and especially likes the show Team Umizoomi. The Umizoomi bot just so happens to be a striking resemblence to the Android bot. I know Motorola had to license the Droid name from Lucasfilm. Did Google license the Android bot from Nickelodeon?
It also looks like the Umizoomi bot has an optimized antenna design.
Android derived from Umizoomi?,

Yes, point taken. Maybe Umizoomi is actually an elaborate Google advertisement for Android anyway.
no becuase android came out in 2008 and this show came out in late 2010
I don’t know why. But I happen to be seeing the show with my kids today and wondered the same thing and found this post. The resemblance is remarkable really. The 2 look so much alike. My guess would be as long as Team Umizoomi is not making huge store profits like Goodle Droid is, no need to open a case or lawsuit. But times may change if Team Umizoomi heads into Pokemon like profits I am sure. Like what had happened to the original WWF wrestling logo. When it got too big. The suits came flying. So someone is gonna raise the patent usage rights law suit flag. But it is still good to enjoy Team Umizoomi for now with the kids before Bot gets a make over. I wonder what will Bot will look like. Hope not the Lost-in-Space guy or Robbie! LOL!
